tap, tap, tap…
thud, thud,
bump bump.
repeat
There is someone on my roof…
It sounds like they are dancing.
tap, tap, tap…
thud, thud,
bump bump.
repeat
I wonder if this roof is dance-proof…
It wouldn’t be for elephants prancing.
tap, tap, tap…
thud, thud,
bump bump.
repeat
Who is dancing on my roof?
Toward the eaves they’re now advancing.
tap, tap, tap…
thud, thud,
bump bump.
repeat
I sneaked a peek to find the proof…
To do this, it took some chancing.
tap, tap, tap…
thud, thud,
bump bump.
repeat
There is someone dancing on my roof!
— It’s three galahs belly-dancing.

There must be an attraction to your roof, for those birds! Or maybe they just enjoy dancing on the roof!

How funny. They must be big birds!

Hehe. Clever.😊 Very nice. Have you put this in any poetry contest in your country?

Nah…I’ve had my fill of contests and writing groups. Too old to be bothered with all the nonsense that goes with it. I just enjoy writing and sharing. 🙂

I thoroughly understand that. I just got to thinking recently as I am publishing what maybe my first and only poetry book (though I hope I can publish the other two) why the Christian realm doesn’t encourage and have more of a demand for poetry books of poets collective works? Why they automatically send poets to go that contest route? At any rate, I was saying I consider your poem worth recognition. It’s sweet. Thank you for sharing it with us wordpressers.😊

Since you like the Bloodlines of Blessing Blog, you might also enjoy my pinterest board under the same name. Look up Eternalfeatherfilm on Pinterest and it’s there.😊 Thank you so much for your encouragement. That really blesses me. My family did support my artistic education financially but emotionally they chose not and in some cases were not able to bring themselves to be encouraging. I watched some more videos of medieval era stuff today docs and drone timelapses of the Norway. One channel I particularly think you might also perhaps enjoy is Modern History done by Jason Knightly on youtube. He is a knight who trains horses and tests medieval accounts and practices like making light for the home out of a particular kind of crass doused in fat. His videos are fun and interesting.

Just as well you don’t have a wooden roof. Those galahs might get hungry 😀
