Cooler Days

A few spits of rain
made the air humid.
The vegetables barely survived.
Not much in recent rains. The trugs remained empty and dry.
We had to rely on tap water
from hoses and watering cans.
At least the grass stayed green.
Our resident blue tongue lizard.
Strawberries, blueberries and herbs struggled.
A cool breeze is just what we need.

Finally the high temperatures of the past two weeks of 35 plus (Celcius) have dropped to a much more pleasant mid 20s. This evening, a gentle rain cools hot surfaces.
