In addition to yesterday’s post, Midday Shadows our front garden, home to our friendly gnomes, is soaked in sunshine every day in winter – except on cloudy and rainy days of course.

Yes, our house is very close to those around us. We’re in an over 55s retirement living village. There are hundreds of them just on the east coast of Australia alone. We looked at dozens of houses in the many villages on the mid-north coast of New South Wales where we finally settled. A satellite view would show that we are fairly close to the perimeter of the village which is encircled by the Australian natural bush within minutes, mountains behind to the south-west and a short drive to around 15 beaches; all very different from the other. Plus we have the river. It’s a safe and friendly community. Except maybe for the house next door, we also have the largest rear garden space in this village and the next. 🙂
